We would like to introduce you to a very special man: THEO SCHUHMANN.

We ourselves were born and grew up in the former GDR. We have a strong connection to the music that was recorded and released here back then. First it was our parents' record collections, later it was flea ma
rket finds with LPs from Amiga, the GDR state label. These included a lot of music that today would be described as organic grooves, soul or jazz funk. That's how we came across Theo Schumann.

The Dresden composer shaped the GDR jazz scene at the beginning of the 1960s and created a very special sound in all his years of work. But many of his recordings were lost, never released and no one had heard them for decades. But we were able to track down Theo Schumann's son Roberto and he was enthusiastic about the idea of lifting his father's music out of the archives and making unreleased material available for everyone to hear for the first time.
